Six-Time WaKeeney Winner Blurton Ready for Friday Night Showdown
5/15/2026 WaKeeney, KS (www.urssracing.com) - Few drivers have built a résumé at WaKeeney Speedway quite like Zach Blurton.
As the United Rebel Sprint Series returns to WaKeeney on Friday night, Blurton enters the event not only as the winningest driver in URSS history, but also as the most successful URSS competitor the track has ever seen.
The Quinter, Kansas native owns six career United Rebel Sprint Series victories at WaKeeney Speedway, the most of any driver in series competition at the historic 4/10 -mile oval. Over the years, Blurton has consistently found speed at WaKeeney, turning the Trego County facility into one of the defining tracks of his career.
Already the all-time winningest driver in United Rebel Sprint Series history with 40 career victories, Blurton’s dominance at WaKeeney has helped cement his legacy as one of the premier drivers ever to compete with the series.
But one of the biggest moments of his career at WaKeeney came outside of URSS competition.
On July 3, 2022, Blurton broke through on the national stage by capturing his first career American Sprint Car Series National Tour victory at WaKeeney Speedway. Racing against some of the top 360 sprint car drivers in the country, Blurton delivered a career-defining performance in front of a packed crowd to earn the biggest win of his career at the time.
Now, he returns to familiar ground once again with another opportunity to add to his already impressive WaKeeney legacy.
With another strong field expected for Friday night’s United Rebel Sprint Series showdown, all eyes will once again be on the driver who has made a habit of finding victory lane at WaKeeney Speedway.
