WHAT TO WATCH FOR: URSS SEASON OPENER SET FOR DODGE CITY RACEWAY PARK
4/15/2026 Dodge City, Kansas (www.urssracing.com) – A new season is here, and the United Rebel Sprint Series is ready to fire things off this Saturday night with a non-points Season Opener at Dodge City Raceway Park. The 3/8-mile oval will welcome the Winged Warriors back to southwest Kansas for the first time in 2026, setting the tone for what is expected to be a competitive year ahead.
Here are the top storylines entering the weekend:
NEW YEAR, SAME HUNTER:
All eyes will be on the defending URSS Champion, Jordan Knight, as he rolls into Dodge City looking to start his title defense strong. The reigning champ has proven he can get it done on a consistent basis, and while Saturday night won’t count toward points, momentum is everything heading into the season. Expect the 2025 champion to be one of the drivers to beat right out of the gate.
STACKED FIELD EXPECTED:
The season opener always brings out a loaded field of cars, and 2026 should be no different. With teams shaking down new equipment, fresh combinations, and offseason changes, Dodge City will be the first real look at who’s ready to contend this year. From series veterans to rising talents, the competition level is expected to be high from the first hot lap.
DODGE CITY ALWAYS DELIVERS:
Dodge City Raceway Park has become a staple on the URSS schedule, known for its fast racing surface and multi-groove action. Whether it’s the top, middle, or bottom coming in, fans can expect plenty of side-by-side racing and slide jobs throughout the night. The wide racing surface often produces thrilling features—and Saturday should be no exception.
SHAKE DOWN NIGHT:
With this being a non-points event, teams will have the opportunity to experiment, fine-tune setups, and get comfortable before the points season officially begins. Don’t be surprised to see drivers get aggressive and take chances they might not otherwise take during points-paying events.

Following the season opener, the United Rebel Sprint Series will shift its focus to the start of the 2026 points season, with upcoming race at SaltCity Racing in Hutchinson, KS Featuring the USAC Silver Crown Cars May 8-9.
