URSS-United Rebel Sprint Series
Huish Hustles to 17th Career URSS Win at Rush County Speedway
LaCrosse, KS – The United Rebel Sprint Series stormed into Rush County Speedway on Friday night, and when the checkered flag fell on a caution-filled 25-lap feature, it was Jeremy Huish making history with his 17th career URSS victory.
The Jetmore, Kansas native capitalized on a mid-race caution to take command on Lap 13 and never looked back, holding off a hard-charging field to secure his second career win at LaCrosse and move into 9th on the all-time URSS wins list.
Early race drama centered around Rookie of the Year contender Kelby Fetters, who started from the pole and led the first 12 laps in impressive fashion. But on Lap 13, Fetters surrendered the lead and brought out a caution—paving the way for Huish to take over at the front.
“We’ve had a great car this year, and this track just fits my style,” said Huish. “Kelby was fast tonight. Once I got to the lead, I knew I had to nail those restarts and stay clean through traffic. Feels great to get No. 17 with the Rebels.”
Behind Huish, Koby Walters surged from eighth to finish second, while Jake Martens completed the podium after starting seventh. Steven Richardson, who earlier won his heat, came home fourth, followed by Brian Herbert in fifth.
Ty Williams earned Hard Charger honors, gaining seven spots from 13th to sixth. Fetters recovered to finish eighth after leading early and winning the Hilker Trucking Dash.
Heat race wins went to Huish, Richardson, and Herbert. A total of 18 cars entered the night’s event, which saw four cautions and three DNFs, including Tyler Knight, Chad Salem, and Mason Day. James Page was a DNS.
