URSS NEWS: Rebels Set to Invade Hutchinson for Zenor Electric Night at SaltCity Racing

Hutchinson, Kansas, 5/22/2024 (www.urssracing.com) - The United Rebel Sprint Series presented by RacinDirt.Com looks to continue its 2024 season campaign this week at SaltCity Racing with the Zenor Electric Night at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

With six races in the books this season, the start to a new chapter for the Rebels has been anything but a letdown. With five different winners to start the season, Jeremy Huish backed his Cranston Racing #20 into victory lane at Dodge City Raceway Park on May 11th to become the first repeat winner of the 2024 season. Jeremy Huish now trails Steven Richardson by just 2 points heading into the single-night show in Hutchinson.

Another driver who could make a repeat this season is the driver who grabbed his first win of 2024 at the half-mile in Hutchinson. Taylor Velasquez comes into the 7th race of the season with a chance to go back-to-back in the Salt City. Velasquez, a 15-time winner with the series, has won the majority of his races at the 3/8 mile in Dodge City, but don’t count out the Smokin' Taylor Ray from possibly grabbing his 3rd win at the half-mile this weekend. Another win at the track would make him the winningest driver at the SaltCity Racing with the United Rebel Sprint Series.

One driver who has been staying consistent at the beginning of the season is Justin Chaffin, from Kinsley, Kansas. Chaffin, one of the few Rookie of the Year contenders, has been racking up solid finish after solid finish to start the year. Scoring four Top-5 finishes to start the season, the driver of the Sabre Wealth #22 enters the weekend in 3rd for the 2024 points standings, just -92 points from Jeremy Huish and Steven Richardson.
This weekend will count as the 11th official race at the infamous half-mile since the founding of the United Rebel Sprint Series back in 2006. Since the first race at the track in 2009, only seven different drivers have been able to conquer the track with the series.

URSS Winners at SaltCity Racing (Hutchinson):
Taylor Velasquez - 4/26/2024
Tyler Knight - 7/4/2023
